        Entering his seventh year as Tennessee head football coach, Phillip Fulmer has guided the Vols to a top 15 placing in each year.  His record going in to the 1999 season in an impressive 67 victories to 11 losses,  which is a .831 winning percentage. That currently makes him the winningest active coach in college football (based on winning percentage). 
        Last season,  Fulmer guided the Vols to the school's second unanimous National Championship. That team set the school record for wins,  posting a 13 - 0 record. 
        Fulmer is the 20th person to be head football coach at Tennessee.  Before being a assistant coach at Tennessee for 13 years Fulmer was on the Wichita State staff for 5 years.   
        Fulmer played at Tennesse from 1969 - 1971 as a offensive guard leading the vols to a 30 - 5 record and a SEC Championship in 1969.  
        Fulmer guided the Vols to the SEC Championship last year in 1997.  
        Phillip Fulmer is now married and has four children.
